ORBSCAN II
The Orbscan is a valuable optical mapping tool
that determines whether potential patients are candidates
for a corrective procedure. This technology captures
a 3-D picture of the eye, mapping the surface elevation
of the front and back of the cornea, and measuring
the anterior chamber depth and thickness.
The findings of the Orbscan assist in the evaluation
of whether the candidate has enough corneal tissue
for laser refractive surgery, determining whether
LASIK will be effective for the patient. Results
also show irregularities in the cornea that are
difficult to detect by other means.
